Three songs: Pa’ diglielo a Ma’, Tipitipiti, La Pioggia… sung by Nada, Orietta Berti and Gigliola Cinquetti… I chose these songs for their popular appeal. These are the first 6 songs of Coro all’improvviso 12, together in this short film. As you can see, singing at home or with a group of friends can be a challenge, as it is with us. The songs genres vary as does our approach to them. The lyrics which can be accessed online should be the ones from the original singers. Some singers change these in order to put their own versions… this is ok too. Don’t forget that my aim is to encourage people to use these lyrics for linguistic educational purpose. “Io sono il vento” and “Vecchio Scarpone” are two songs with strong lyrics. A bit of a challenge the first one and the same for the second. The Vecchio Scarpone chorus lines are very well known. We tried to give these two songs some air time on Facebook… Look up the lyrics and try to sing them yourself…
“L’edera” and “Al di La’ “ are two songs that were popular decades ago… do you remember them? Our version can introduce you to these lyrics… look up which singers first sang these songs… and not only in Italy…
“‘O Sole Mio” was written in 1898. We celebrated here in Melbourne the 100 years Birthday with A Concert at Crown Casino organised by Count Fausto Terlizzi. I produced a videocassette of that Event. Today we sang a short version and the longer one of this song…
