CAI – Prog 2 – Song No.6 – “Mi votu e mi rivotu/ Lamentu d’amuri’

My philosophy regarding “Singing” for educational purpose is here illustrated in this clip from my archives. A wonderful activity for students of Italian. By osmosis it’s also true for the learning of other languages. Here is “Lamentu d’amuri” also known as “Mi votu e mi rivotu”… look up Insegna.com and TomPadulaTV on YouTube if you are teaching or learning Italian. Come to see me if you need resources and a chat regarding the Italian Language Curriculum…

CAI – Prog 2 – Song No.5 – ‘Firenze Sogna’

‘Firenze Sogna’ falls into the Italian Regional and Cities branch of Songs and Music. The lyrics are heartfelt and convey much love towards living in such a beautiful place. There are many songs that we will come across this journey in our study of Italian Language and Culture. The words used are easily learnt when listening to the original great Italian Singers accompanied generally by a big orchestra in beautiful settings of performance, film and television. YouTube has added to the popularisation of songs because both lyrics and interpretations by numerous professional singers are there for all of us to see. However when learning we, as individuals, want the satisfaction to also participate. In this era of Pandemics, singing by ourselves or together with others is a great antidote for pain and suffering. So go for it… sing along with me… it’s not a bad activity… and don’t worry “se sei stonato!”
